Finale of St. Xavier’s School.
St. Xavier’s School, Durgapur
celebrated its concluding part of the Golden Jubilee in a Gala Way on 1st
of May 2013. Crowds of people assembled to witness the cultural programme
arranged by the Students and Teachers. From the evening till 11 at night all
the audiences were enthralled by the excel performance of the participants from
the tiny tots to the seniors. Everybody enjoyed the conglomeration of the
programme in unwinking eyes in presence of the parents, students and the
special presence of the Chief Guest His Grace Thomas D’souza (Archbishop of
Kolkata), Provincial Head of the Jesuit Society- Rev. Fr. Jeyaraj Veluswamy,
S.J., Former Principal of St. Xavier’s School Durgapur- Rev. Fr. Jerome, S.J.
and Vice Principal of the St. Xavier’s School, Burdwan, Principal of St.
Xavier’s Collegiate School, Kolkata, the Deputy Editor of The Herald and Father
Sazoo S.J.
The programme
was started by the inaugural function like Prayer Song, Hymn invoking God’s
blessings and the presentation of School Anthem and the Golden Jubilee Soire.
The most amazing part of their concluding programme was the presentation of the
Dance Drama on the life of St. Francis Xavier and the theme song “Dream run
carries on….” Written by the senior most teacher Mr. U. B. Ray and composed by
the Ronald D’Costa.
The another
important feature of this celebration was the release of the School Magazine
and presentation of ‘Uttario’ to the
special dignitaries and felicitation of the teachers with Mementos & gifts.
Everyone was
bemused for the cultural fiesta with the high epitome of the students,
teachers, staff, Prefects and Headmaster Fr. M. S. Arockiasamy, S.J.
Kanchan Kumar
