Celebration of National Education Day by NSHM College Campus, Durgapur.

NSHM Knowledge Campus, Durgapur celebrated the “National Education Day in some gala way. Cricketing Legend, the Champion of Champions, Ravi Shastri came to Durgapur NSHM College Campus today to interest and inspire the students of leading schools in Durgapur, Burdwan and Asansol at a function named as “In spite the Champion in you”. The function was organized by NSHM at its sprawling Durgapur Campus to celebrate the National Education Day especially. Rabi Shastri who is also the goodwill Ambassador of NSHM Knowledge Campus and has been actively engaging with the student community to inspire and motivate you7ng minds and bring out the best in them. Felicitated young toppers from 24 leading schools of Durgapur, Asansol and Burdwan on this day. “I have faced many challenges on the field and in life. Creating new champions of tomorrow is a very big challenge but one which is close to my heart. With experiential knowledge, motivation and institutional support from NSHM Knowledge Campus, I am sure we shall work as a team and score big”. Said Rabi Shastri at the function today in presence of hundreds of students, teachers and other dignitaries.  

 
The function was started at 4.30 PM and at the interactive session various people, students and the media personnel interacted with Shastri and asked several questions.
“Motivating the students to strive for the best is top on NSHM’s agenda. In order to reach out and support the meritorious and disadvantaged students, NSHM Knowledge Campus has initiated the Asha Jyoti Scholarship Programme that is benefiting meritorious students each year providing scholarships worth more than RS. 3 Crores. The Scholarship aimed at helping the meritorious but economically disadvantaged students to have access to quality education and higher learning at NSHM’s twin know3ledge campuses in Kolkata and Durgapur” said Mr. Cecil Antony, Managing Trustee, NSHM Knowledge Campus. 
NSHM plans to do skills training of about 1000,000 students in the next five yea5rs and contribute towards bridging India’s skill deficit by imparting training to the students under NSHM Udaan Skills Foundation in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). A slew of short term courses in partnership with professional and government bodies, aimed at equipping students with skill sets that make them employable or help them start their own venture is currently on. NSHM Knowledge Campus in line with its continuous out-of-the-box innovative efforts has taken an initiative to create a stimulating learning environment where the young students are motivated so that they want to learn rather than have to learn.
This College is set to roll out an ambitious RS. 200 Croce expansion plan in setting up NSHM Knowledge University at Durgapur after getting required permissions from the Govt. of West Bengal which would increase its student base to 10,000. NSHM is also planning to start a campus at Lavasa, Pune very soon.
