vocational service before we became Rotarians or else we would not be in Rotary. We have selected because our club
friends were convinced that we are competent, trustworthy, fair and honest
people. All we need to do is to maintain the faith our fellow Rotarians have
placed in us by precept– and it is the punch line of our membership. I am proud
of my club members, for their dedication and sincere
relentless effort to improve the miserable condition of the browbeaten
people and others to achieve their dreams in every walks of their life. ” –

extend our hands with other organizations to continue the same. We've also
applied Global Grant for a mobile eye testing van& 20 Public Toilets across
Durgapur City and we think the City badly needs such things to maintain the eco

On the auspicious 63rd Republic Day a team consisting of 9 Rotarians from RI Dist 3201 (Kochi,
Kerala) visited Durgapur in a rally after covering 10,000 kms starting from
Kochi on 11th December to create awareness to eradicate Polio from India. For
your kind information after an initiative taken 25 years back in 1986 to
eradicate Polio from the world, it is almost in the doorstep of success with
only 3 countries left Pakistan, India& Nigeria (PIN point of Rotary's Polio war). There were no Polio cases found in last 1
yr in India 3 more yrs to continue. Rotary Foundation is
the Institution behind the show, supported by Bill & Melinda Gates
foundation. Rotarians donate generously to empower the foundation to take such
initiatives. US$ 500 million was already spent in the venture.
‘All well that ends well’ – and so to make the day more
eventful the Club organized a Function and a sumptuous
dinner. All the members enjoyed immensely ignoring the cold wave outside.
