After that Panchajanya Group of the city performed
their dance drama and enthralled the audience by their excel performance.
Panchajanya was found to enrich the Indian Cultural heritage among the people
of Durgapur especially the next generation who are going to forget this
heritage by the rampant influence of pop and rock songs. Soma Bhaumik the
founder this Panchajanya says, “Though I am an Electrical Engineer from
NIT-Tripura I have devoted major part of my life in learning and teaching the
ancient dance from Bharatnatayam. We know very well that Durgapur was very rich
in art and culture during 70s and 80s. But with the progression of technology
Durgapur people became much techno-minded and its advancement in the cultural
heritage took a back and we by our sincere effort and training promise to bring
back the cultural mind of Durgapur.”
Panchajanya is located in the posh area of city center,
Durgapur. The din and bustle free Ashramik atmosphere attracts the
people much to enroll their names with this reputed organization in many fields
like Dance, Vocal voice training with Musicians, Yoga, Art and Craft. In this
programme the group performed their Dance Programme on the theme Holi. The
composition and choreography was specially done by Soma Bhaumik. “Holi is the
festival of Northern India but in this programme we have celebrated it with
difference dance styles of North India merging with South Indian Dance Forms.
We also convey our warm gratitude to Gurukulfor inviting us to perform
such a colourful on their prestigious programme Heritage-2012”- said Soma.
“We achieved a lot by performing different cultural
programmes based on different aspects of our society like Ban Pollithine, How
man concurred this blue planet, Child Rights, Family Bonding, Navaras etc only
to spread the message about the enrichment of our own Indian culture and highly
praised much my the city people.” said Kamanashish Bhaumik, husband of Soma
Bhaumik, a SAIL Executive (Alloy Steels Plant) but intensely attached with the
Panchajanya.
Durgadas Karmakar, the President of Gurukul says, “The
Music of the band is influenced by the transcendental aroma of pure divinity
and spirituality of the majestic Indian Classical Music as well as the unique
flavour o the jazz clubs of Europe. Their sound brings the bizarre tastes the
Indian and French masala gets mingled through the influences of L.
Shankar and Shakti on one hand and John Coltrane, Chick Korea and Giovanni
Hidalgo on the other. ”
The primal note of Naada Naissance was struck in
September 2011 as four musicians were just hanging out and jamming with their
instruments in Metz, France. Rajib and Surojato – the two musical brothers were
on a concert tour in Europe where they met Damien and Pierre. Damien a multi
percussionist is also taking talimfrom Pt. Shankar Ghosh about Indian
percussions. Pierre a three time winner of international competitions
(Watrelos, UFAM and Leopold Bellan) and obtained his Cefedem Diploma in
Saxophone at the Ile-de-France. “I love to explore music from all over the
world around and find Jazz to be my center of attraction” –said Pierre.

Rajib Karmakar performed his best with his
newInstruments MAYUR- TANTRI . “This
instrument is a blend of Sitar and Guitar and is the world's only double necked
Sitar . This unique instrument is created by me with the help of Braganza and
Co. Tapan Roy and Anil Haldar . It took one and a half years to build this
Instrument. This is the first Concert where this instrument has been launched
and I have performed” said Rajib. The accompaniment by Surojato with his Tabla
was also highly praised by the passionate audiences.
The people as a whole enjoyed the NAADA NEISSANCE (a Indo –
French Project) to a great extent. “Naada - Naissance” was an initiative
where the eternal spirit of ‘Naada Brahma’ is weaved through the
dichotomized sounds of saxophone, Tabla, Sitar, Piano and Latin Percussions and
is rendered into the ‘Naisssance’ or birth of an intoxicating, charming
and mystique dimension.

name is her introduction and since 1972 her charming voice has captivated the
hearts of thousands of music lovers. Srimati Shukla has a history of
