About the little master Samrat Banik, a student of Class-V of St. Peter’s School, Durgapur.
When the city people were extreme  busy to enjoy and celebrate the X-mas and New year, the little master of this city Samrat Banik had no time to spare to join with any of his associates, groups and relatives since he remains always busy with his tight schedule beside his regular studies. Samrat Banik the youngest son of Jayanta and Rupanjana Banik residing in Benachity, Durgapur has really become a star of this city at this age of 11. This little master has already bagged several awards and certificates for his magnetism in various cultural activities like Acting, Dance, Recitation, Anchoring and  for his versatility for playing several musical instruments.
Samrat a student of Class-V of St. Peter’s School, Durgapur has now become a well know face for his role of the childhood of Sattyendra Nath Tagore- elder brother of Rabindranath Tagore in Jiban Smriti a film based on the life of Rabindranath Tagore by the well known director Rituparno Ghosh – produced by NFDC. His unparallel acting has touched the heart of the people in the film.
            He has already worked with several famous Directors in many film, drama and TV serials and special mention may be made for his work in the pilot episode of ‘Samay Asamay’  with the renowned artists of this age like Sankar Chakraborty, Chaity Ghosal, Arun Mukhopadhyay, Ratna Ghosal,  and with many such in the role of ‘Babu’ son of Sankar Chakrabaoty and Chaity Ghosal and captured the heart of the audiences for his acting. .
            The school authority is proud of such a student who is not only good is his studies but also in other activities like Singing, Dancing (Western and Kathak)and Acting.  Further, he also attends his classes regularly in Drama in Nehru Children Museum (Vidyasagar Academy) Kolkata   to enrich his career.  His parents proudly say, “We are really happy for the activities of our son. Now we are getting introduced as Samrat’s Parents for his charisma at this early stage of his life. We always try to extend our hands in every sphere for the development of his career and studies.”
Samrat is taking regular coaching from the renowned teachers like Moumita Chosh (Classical Dance.) Rishi Roy Chowdhury (Choreographer of Dance Bangla Dance-Western). Sujata Banik (Rabindra Sangeet) Nilotpal Mandal (Synthesizer), Goutam Chakrabaorty (Recitation).
“Samrat is very sincere in all his activities. Besides he is a good Anchor. His sweet toungue and appearance will surely make him a good artist one day” – says Goutam Chakrabaorty the renowned elocutionist of this City as well as his teacher.
