Cultural programme of AMIK Institute of Management Sciences & Technology, Durgapur.

 

AMIK Institute of Management Sciences & Technology, located in the heart of this city, celebrated its Annual Programme 2012 on 18th and 19th January 2013 in a gala way. The Chief Guest of the programme was Dr. Mou Sen, Deputy Director,  M&SSE (Micro & Small Scale Enterprise), Durgapur, Govt. of West Bengal.

            In the Annual sports all the students and teachers took active part in various events like: Cricket, Musical Chair, Put the ball in the bucket, Earthen pot breaking, candle lighting, memory game and many such interesting events.

            On 19th January AMIK celebrated its Annual Cultural  programme by lighting the lamp followed by the inaugural song sung by the students and the teachers in presence of the Honorable Chief Guest Dr. Mou Sen, Director Mrs. Swati Saha and the social worker and well wisher Mr. N. C. Bakshi and the senior Faculty Mr. Jibon Banerjee.  It was almost a day- along programme with Recitation, Songs like Rabindra Sangeet, Folk and Adhunik., Dance, Quiz contest, Comedy and others. But the special attractions were the performance of Saptak – the Musical Troup, the Dance by the students of Uday Sankar School of Dance and the solo performance of the renowned singers Shaan (Kolkata) Kajal Acharya (Durgapur) Monalisa (Durgapur) and Miss. Sumana Nag from Mohua Channel, Kolkata.

            This Institute of Management Science and Technology started its academic journey in 2006 and first time in Durgapur begins with PG Diploma in Multimedia and Animation. In the year 2007 this Institution got its affiliation from Vidyasagar University, Midnapore,  West Bengal for its regular 2 years’ Master of Social Work Course. This institute of repute started research and training programme for different corporate and non-corporate organizations. It has already conducted several seminars, workshops and training programmes for executives, entrepreneurs and self help groups with association of National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development, Engineering Export Promotion Council, National Small Industr4ies Corporation, Ultra Tech and Alloy Steels Plant.  In the year 2012 AMIK started MBA Programme in distant learning with the affiliation of the same University to satisfy the diverse needs of its various target groups like the students seeking professional degree, mid-career executives, Bank and Insurance professionals and Govt. Officers. Now AMIK has also introduced the undergraduate regular cour4ses in Honours in Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) for the seco9nd time in WB after Viswa Bharati and the first time under Vidyasagar University.

            Director Mrs. Swati Saha says, “AMIK always look forward in the development and welfare of the people. NGOs now – a – days are booming sectors for the growth and improvement of the life of the poor and needy people living below the poverty line. Thus through imparting education in different spheres it can build up a new generation who will come forward to hold the hands of those people. ”
