Swami Vivekananda, Hem Sheela Model School celebrated his 150th birth anniversary on 11 January, 2013

“Come up o lions and shake off the delusion that you are sheep; you are soul’s immortal, spirits free, blest and eternal; you are not bodies; matter is your servant not you the servant of matter” – Inspired by these words of Swami Vivekananda, Hem Sheela Model School celebrated his 150^th birth anniversary on 11 January, 2013 in presence of Honorable Dr. Rabindra N. Roy (Founder President), Dr. (Mrs.) Protima K. Roy (Vice President), L.N Roy (Trustee Member, Treasurer), Megan Taylor and Kelly Gallagher (students of Drury University, USA). The programme started with quotation of Swami Vivekananda which was followed by a melodious song in memoir of Swami Vivekananda sung by the school choir. Students of class-IX came up with informative speeches in both Bengali and English on the life and achievements of the great philosopher. After that Mr. Soumen Chakraborty (Principal) inspired the students to follow the ideals of this great idealist.
