DAV Model School, Durgapur organizes Table Tennis
& Badminton Tournament 2013
DAV Model School, Durgapur had the honour to organize the DAV National
Sports, 2013, Jharkhand Zone-1, Cluster Level Table Tennis and
Badminton Tournament. In Table Tennis four teams of boys and two teams
of girls and in badminton seven teams of boys and five teams of girls
have participated in this tournament.
Mr. Apurba Mukherjee, Mayor, DMC & MLA, Durgapur (West) was the Chief
Guest of the occasion and Dr. Ashok Singh, Director, (M & HS, DSP),
Durgapur was the Guest of Honour. The tournament started with chanting
of the Gayatri Mantra. The Principal of the host school, Ms. Papiya
Mukherjee welcomed the dignitaries, team managers and the
participants.
The DAV flag and the host school flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest
and he declared the tournament open.
Matches for the table tennis as well as badminton started off
simultaneously amidst great enthusiasm of the participants.
DAV Model Durgapur clinched the winner’s trophy for both girls and
boys Under-19. The girls team comprising of Kriti Gupta, Sarmistha
Chatterjee, Sri Sai Hemalahiri & Bidisha Sarkar defeated the DAV
Public School, Koylanagar, Dhanbad by 3 – 0. Debjit Majumder,
Soumyadeep Kundu, Evience Das, Sandeep Pal & Aritjit Jana the boys
team stood victorious over DAV Public School, Koylanagar, Dhanbad in a
game score of 3 – 0.
In the Badminton tournament under 19 for the girls the winners were
DAV Public School, Bokaro Steel City, Sector-IV (2 – 0) & the runners
up trophy was bagged by DAV Public School, Koylanagar, Dhanbad. In the
final level match for the under 19 boys the winners were DAV Public
School, Koylanagar, Dhanbad (2 – 0) and the Runner-up DAV Public
School, Bokaro Steel City, Sector-IV.
